Cranu!

June 15, 2008

This past weekend River Pointe Church had their last Cranu competition.  It’s a combination of canoeing and croquet.  There was also a massive church wide picnic going on at the same time.

It’s my lovely wife Jess’ b-day today.  We’ve been married for almost 4 years now. She teaches third grade and I hope her students give her a relaxing day.  Love you babe!

She’s bouncing on the trampoline lightly with Sophie.

The Studio!!

February 20, 2008

Finally I have a presentation room up and running.  It’s been under construction for several months.  My target was to finish by the end of November,  didn’t work that way.  I didn’t know when you order furniture it takes around two months to come in.  There a few final touches that are going to be made, but it’s up and running and a bit of a relief.   add34ddgj446.jpgadd34ddgj445.jpgadd34ddgj447.jpg

This Past Weekend

January 28, 2008

This past weekend was awesome.  First of all, I work with the best lab.  Friday evening I stopped by to pick one last album for the upcoming show.  They told me to sit in the lobby and wait or a second, which kinda threw me off .  Normally I just walk in the back and talk as they put together my order.  A minute later Jenny came around the corner with an excellent cake in hand with a lit candle asking me to make a wish.  That was a huge surprise, thank guys!  Saturday was my birthday, which fortunately, I had off.  Didn’t do anything incredible, just spent some time with the family and relaxed with my wife watching a bunch of movings.  Sunday was the big event.  The Weddings in Houston magazine hosted an awesome bridal show at the Houstonian hotel.  It was very elegant event.  Phenomenal show.  Can’t wait for next year.   The weekend was a long one, but in a good way.

My D3 is here!!!

December 30, 2007

Good old St. Nick finally came.  I was told by the store that I had ordered the camera through that I wouldn’t get it until the end of January, which I was okay with, but I had initially been told I would receive it before Christmas.  So when Christmas came and went I was a little depressed.  But two days ago I was running some errands, my phone rang, I answered, and the last person I expected to call said “your D3 is here.”  I was giddy like a school girl.  It was like getting my hands on a Red Rider bb gun.   This camera is phenomenal.  It shoots insanely fast and is incredible in low light.  Patience payed off.  I came very close to making the switch to Canon.  Had I of made that switch, Nikon would have made me really regret it.    d3-001.jpg d3-003.jpg d3-002.jpg d3-004.jpg d3-005.jpg

Car on Fire!?! What?

December 11, 2007

I took my Volkswagon GTI to the dealer recently to get the 20 thousand mile check up.  A few days later it was making a whistling sound which quite annoying.  So I took it back yesterday to take care of the noise.  Later in the afternoon they were finished fixing it I thought.  On the way home I heard weird rattling sound.  The thing that was making the rattling sound was a massive screw driver sitting in the windshield wipers.  It was about two and a half feet long.  At the same time noticed a lot smoke coming out of the hood.  That was a little concerning, smoke is bad right.  I laid on the ground and looked under the car and the part where the power steering was located was on fire.  I called the dealer and they said not too worry about it.  There is probably residual oil burning.  That didn’t really calm at all for some reason.  The flame went out about twenty minutes later.  When I turned car on, and what a surprise, no power steering!  The dealer came by and picked up the car about an hour later.  I talked to them today and they aren’t really sure what happened.  They have representatives coming from in from all over to check out this freak event. car-fire-blog-01.jpg car-fire-blog-02.jpgThe fish eye lens made the flame look smaller than it was.  It was about six inches tall.

The Untouchables

September 5, 2007

I went down to the Sherlock’s Pub at West Gray and Shepherd Monday night to watch my friend JJ Worthen play. Him and a couple of friends threw together a band to have some fun called the Untouchables. These guys are phenominal. They play every Monday night and start at 9:45 I believe. I’m planning to make a habbit out of it. Its relaxing to lounge around, goof with the camera and enjoy some amazing live music, plus there’s no more smoke.

Scary Moment

August 31, 2007

It’s a weird enough feeling when you get caught up in a spider web. Imagine this thing crawling on your shoulder. Mowing the lawn this morning I got really freaked out when I felt something crawling on me, looked down and saw this thing climbing my shoulder. The picture alone makes me kinda shake. It was about the size of silver dollar.
