My D3 is here!!!
December 30, 2007
Good old St. Nick finally came. I was told by the store that I had ordered the camera through that I wouldn’t get it until the end of January, which I was okay with, but I had initially been told I would receive it before Christmas. So when Christmas came and went I was a little depressed. But two days ago I was running some errands, my phone rang, I answered, and the last person I expected to call said “your D3 is here.” I was giddy like a school girl. It was like getting my hands on a Red Rider bb gun. This camera is phenomenal. It shoots insanely fast and is incredible in low light. Patience payed off. I came very close to making the switch to Canon. Had I of made that switch, Nikon would have made me really regret it.
Stephanie & Michael’s Wedding
December 29, 2007
This past Friday Stephanie and Michael had their big day. Everything went according plan which doesn’t happen very often. This couple was my ideal couple, laid back and there to have a good time, and not worried about a thing. I love shooting fun couples. Michael didn’t necessarily love camera, but he certainly loved Steph.
That’s me movin’ to the beat. I can’t keep my feet still when a good song is playing.
Merry Christmas!

Meet Sophie, the newest addition to the Heinlein family. We weren’t intending to get puppy for a while, but we did some Christmas shopping and stumbled across some gorgeous puppies being sold in the parking lot at one of the shopping centers in Sugar Land. We picked up Sophie and fell in love with her imediately. Her siblings were selling really fast so we had to decide pretty quickly. We had talked about buying another dog in the past to be Sugar’s companion and broke it down to either getting a beagle or a terrier of some sort. Sophie is a beagle/rat terrier. She was exactly what we were looking for. Sugar loves her new little sister. The majority of these shots were taken with my new Christmas present, the 85 f/1.4. It’s been a great Christmas.
She made a great stocking stuffer.
ow…ow…ow…OW!!

Car on Fire!?! What?
December 11, 2007
I took my Volkswagon GTI to the dealer recently to get the 20 thousand mile check up. A few days later it was making a whistling sound which quite annoying. So I took it back yesterday to take care of the noise. Later in the afternoon they were finished fixing it I thought. On the way home I heard weird rattling sound. The thing that was making the rattling sound was a massive screw driver sitting in the windshield wipers. It was about two and a half feet long. At the same time noticed a lot smoke coming out of the hood. That was a little concerning, smoke is bad right. I laid on the ground and looked under the car and the part where the power steering was located was on fire. I called the dealer and they said not too worry about it. There is probably residual oil burning. That didn’t really calm at all for some reason. The flame went out about twenty minutes later. When I turned car on, and what a surprise, no power steering! The dealer came by and picked up the car about an hour later. I talked to them today and they aren’t really sure what happened. They have representatives coming from in from all over to check out this freak event.
The fish eye lens made the flame look smaller than it was. It was about six inches tall.

Lindsay & Russell
December 9, 2007
I had a good time yesterday. Lindsay and Russell were really laid back and easy to work with.
As I was shooting these images, this man jogged by posing. Most people are very shy and respectful, this guy was the opposite.
Jenny & Peter’s Enagagement
December 3, 2007
This past Saturday was pretty nice, not too cold not too hot. We wondered around downtown getting some fun shots. This is the short period of time, about two weeks, that you can call the fall in Houston.
A silly shot from the fisheye

Not too exotic, but still very pretty.
