The Pink Bunny
August 27, 2007
I noticed this in Mexico and in England. What is Duracell doing with a pink bunny?!? They have pink furry bunny for their new logo/mascot. I thought that was Energizer’s thing! Copyright? Why not use a green teddy bear or something else? I have to say that’s a lack of orignality on Duracell’s part. Shame on you Duracell.

I tried to make the energizer bunny look angry.

i was thinking the same about energizer when i came to us from poland…
shame on you energizer
a.
You know, the Duracell-bunny came first. the energizer is just mimicing the Duracell-bunny.
BTW: sorry for my bad english…

Kim Adrian is correct. The decidedly familiar Engergizer bunny as we know him today – sunglasses, bass drum and blue sandals – started as a parody of the commercials produced for Duracell batteries. When it came time to renew the copyright, Duracell was remiss and neglected renewal; Energizer jumped on it and defined their parody as their new logo.
We’ll then, shame on Energizer. These were my own observations and did no research to justify my statement. It doesn’t seem smart for both sides to only fight over the logo. The original statement was how it was presented to me, after seeing commercials and visiting other countries. I used to be fairly trusting on a commercial.
